"Women Fashion Power" is an upcoming exhibition at The Design Museum in London. The exhibition will be an exploration of "how women from Naomi Campbell to Natalie Massenet and Princess Diana have used fashion as an important tool of self-expression and empowerment to build reputation, attract attention and assert authority.”
I am 100% geeking out over this. Let me list the reasons why:
The importance of fashion exhibitions in today’s world is paramount. Most people’s only exposure to fashion is through fashion week, which has increasingly become more about business and publicity than about appreciating/learning about the fine art of clothes and design
"Women Fashion Power" is a tribute to amazing women who have overcome obstacles to break barriers and achieve the biggest of accomplishments. They are needed reminders that fashion can lead to influence and success
"Women Fashion Power" is an exhibition about the language of clothes and power. The connection between clothes and power encourages women to embrace dressing as a way of expressing one’s individuality and self-reliance
"Women Fashion Power" shows us that we can have it all. Women, fashion, and power are not part of a multiple choice question.
"Women Fashion Power" runs from October 29th, 2014 - April 26th, 2015. Tickets can be pre-booked here.
